Abstract

This research aims to provide in-depth information to students, parents, teachers, the community and the government about the impact of violence and bullying as well as providing steps to prevent acts of violence and bullying. This research uses a literature review approach to find theories that are relevant to the cases or problems identified. References to this theory were obtained through searching scientific literature, such as journals, books and other internet sources of information. The research results show that violence and bullying are based on the perpetrators, namely individuals and groups, based on the motive, namely to hurt, threaten, intimidate. Based on the place where it occurs, it can be at home, at school, work, places of worship, or public places. Meanwhile, based on the type, violence and bullying are divided into five, namely physical, verbal, psychological, sexual and economic violence. The impact of violence and bullying is long-term and short-term for both the perpetrator and the victim, the impact for the perpetrator is such as feeling of shame and guilt, being ostracized in society, and being punished based on applicable regulations. Then the impact for the victim is fear, shame, trauma, depression, depression, difficulty socializing, and others. Prevention that can be done to overcome violence and bullying is providing education and awareness about anti-violence and bullying, creating a safe and comfortable environment and culture, building positive character and values, and programs for handling and assisting victims and perpetrators. So this research has an impact on students, parents, teachers, schools, communities and the government in order to overcome various violence and bullying in educational institutions.
